Delete Account and Data

This is a convenience translation; only the German version is legally binding. In the event of any discrepancy between this translation and the German version, the German version prevails.

In the app — immediately and by yourself

The quickest way is via the app itself. No request and no waiting time are needed:

  1. Open the app and sign in
  2. Tap Profile at the bottom left
  3. At the very bottom, choose Delete account
  4. Confirm the follow-up question

The deletion takes place immediately. After that, signing in with these credentials is no longer possible. Your photos are removed from the picture storage at the same time; if, exceptionally, this does not succeed immediately, a daily clean-up run takes care of it.

Without the app — by email

If the app is no longer installed or signing in does not work, an email to info@mobiletrend.de with the subject Account deletion is enough. Write the email from the address with which the account was created — that is how we recognise the authorisation without asking for further proof.

We delete within 30 days and confirm completion. If the request comes from a different address, we ask for confirmation for security reasons — otherwise anyone could have another person's account deleted. Deletion by this route is exactly the same as in the app.

What is deleted

  • Credentials and email address, including the link to a Google account
  • Profile information: name, date of birth, gender, place of residence, interests, photos
  • All conversations and messages, sent as well as received
  • Star and diamond balances including the account ledger
  • Likes, visits and bookmarks
  • The device token for notifications
  • The record of the consents given
  • All emails we have sent to your address, including the purchase confirmations
  • Decided reports you have submitted, and the checks of your profile text and your photos

Purchased credit expires with the deletion and is not refunded. Anyone who still has stars should bear this in mind.

What is retained — and why

Some information is retained because the law requires it or because a procedure is still ongoing. Except for the last exception, it no longer has any link to your account afterwards:

  • Receipts for purchases must be kept by us for the periods under commercial and tax law (Section 147 of the German Fiscal Code, AO; Section 257 of the German Commercial Code, HGB), up to ten years. They contain the transaction number, time, product, quantity, price and status, for purchases in the app store the country of purchase, for purchases in the web app via PayPal the purchase channel, amount paid and currency. The purchase receipt identifier of the store and the identifier of the payment at PayPal are replaced by irreversible check values; the information about the paying person from PayPal's response is deleted. The order number at PayPal remains as the transaction number so that the receipt can be reconciled with PayPal's statement.
  • Messages from PayPal about your payments are retained as part of the accounting records for the same periods, but only with type, time, status, amount and currency, in the case of a dispute with its reason, and the identifiers at PayPal as an irreversible check value. Names, email addresses, PayPal identifiers of the paying person and messages in a dispute are deleted — also for messages that only arrive after the deletion.
  • Reports whose procedure is still ongoing are retained without any link to your account so that the procedure can be concluded.
  • Logs of our administration area keep the action — who did what at our end and when —, but no longer any reference to your account.
  • Suspected depiction of child sexual abuse: If an uploaded picture was secured for this reason, the picture and the check record are retained as evidence for the law enforcement authorities, together with the identifier, email address and creation and deletion time of the account. Further details can be found in our child safety standards.

Legal basis

Art. 17 GDPR gives you the right to erasure of your data. This page and the route in the app implement it. The obligation to keep the purchase receipts follows from Art. 17(3)(b) GDPR in conjunction with Section 147 AO and Section 257 HGB. Questions about this are answered by info@mobiletrend.de.
